New Balance 1080

Officially not out until January of 2011 the New Balance 1080 is a direct successor to the New Balance 1064. Its older sibling was a grand slam, topping our list of best cushioned running shoes. And initial reports seem to be super positive

This flagship cushioned running shoe by New Balance is headlined by its reinforced heel. The N-ergy system on the heel cushions even the toughest heel strikers. This has been increased from the previous iteration which some runners will love.

The mid sole for the New Balance 1080 has been reconfigured well to have more ground contact. A generous amount of blow rubber on the whole forefoot, extending all the way to part of the heel makes the bottom look really substantial.

Like the New Balance 1064 before it the 1080 will please runners who are traditional heel strikers. Very few neutral shoes are targeted to heavy runners and the 1080 continues in that tradition.

This shoe is still scheduled to be released on 2011 but we’ve found a few of them popping out online. At a cost of $130 USD you get a rare blend of cushioning with the ability to support heavier runners.

Because of the unique ability of the New Balance 1080 to cradle a heavier undepronator’s foot the New Balance is destined to once again become one of the best cushioned running shoes for 2011. And the best part? You can get it now…
